This project aims to fabricate the high-functionality thin film materials and to develop new functional devices by controlling their microstructure in an atomic/molecular order. Particularly, electronic materials fabricated by chemical processes, which have advantages in mass-production compared with physical processes such as sputtering and evaporation, are focused upon in this project. Because of these advantages, precision control of such processes is being attempted.
Current targets for the project involve magnetic thin films for high-density magnetic recording devices, thin film materials for high-density rechargeable lithium batteries and chemical sensor devices.
