Study on Human Interface for Distributed Multi-media System
Go to Japanese
naiyo

As a result of the expansion of computation capacity and the rapid spread of networks, a large amount of information from various media such as audio and visual recordings have been stored for later distribution and use. Now, the development of new types of human interfaces for the efficient use of the stored information is necessary.
The realization of this kind of human interface requires not only continued improvement in the precision of the basic processing of sound and image, but also the development of a communication model based clearly on the basic features of multimedia communication and the implementation of applied systems.
In this research, we are promoting the development of multimodal spoken dialogue systems, a user interface for old and impaired people, a multimedia retrieval system and systems for long-distance education.
