Development of the High-functional and Environment Controllable Building Materials

It is thought the direction adapted to the important subject of the technology research to which Japan of this century should point to promote the base technical development which aimed at symbiosis and harmony of natural environment and tapping of resources. Especially, the development and utilization of the highly efficient nature building materials and the raw material for construction using natural minerals which have environmental affinity should be expected. The former materials can be effective in an improvement of habitation space and public move institution space, energy saving, and cost reduction. Deployment of the latter materials would be carried out immediately at structure degradation and the institution maintenance of the third sector which are aggravated by the railroad relation, and cost reduction. This laboratory has researched mainly natural micro-porous hydrous silicate minerals, clay minerals and zeolites, as the raw materials for a humidity adjustment, adsorption and disassembly of a substance detrimental to a human body, electromagnetism, antibacterial, and defense against white ants. By using these minerals, we would produce the high functional materials for construction such as highly efficient nature building materials having the environmental adjustment function of habitation space and high durability concrete which has an ecology environmental harmony function.
