| The Advanced Research Institute for Science
and Engineering was established in April, 1993, incorporating
the former Science and Engineering Research Laboratory that
had existed for more than fifty years. The research faculty
members, including those at School of Science and Engineering
and the Graduate School played a significant role in science
and engineering in Japan. Inheriting this invaluable tradition,
the Institute was launched, aiming to enhance our system of
collaborative research with researchers outside Waseda University
and to foster interdisciplinary research crossing the boundaries
between separate, established organizations. |
